Staff
Mindy Gregory Sieber is the Executive Director of the New Art Center. With over 20 years of experience in for- and not-for-profit management, Gregory-Sieber, who is also a painter, was the Director of Newton Open Studios in 2006 and 2007. She established new nonprofit arts events in Newton, such as the Fall Art Show, which have raised the visibility of Newton art and artists and has also managed art businesses, marketing and event development. Gregory-Sieber has lived in Newton for 20 years, and all along has been an exhibition-goer, a student, and a supporter of the New Art Center. She has served as the Interim Executive Director since October.
Ceci Mendez is the Director of Exhibitions and Community Partnerships and is responsible for all of the shows in both the Main and Holzwasser Galleries. She has taught interdisciplinary arts classes and programs at the Addison Gallery of American Art and the Essex Art Center in Massachusetts. Most recently she spent four years at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, getting her Masters of Fine Arts degree and working with elementary school students in the Detroit public schools. She loves hamsters, squirrels, and chipmunks, and believes they are among the most beautiful creatures on earth.
Kate Wisnioski is the Assistant Education Director. Before joining the NAC staff, she coordinated the summer arts program at the Arlington Center for the Arts and worked with various non-profit organizations in Arlington. She brings with her a B.A. in English and Theatre Studies from Wheaton College in Norton, MA. Kate’s passion is directing children’s theatre and she fuels this passion by directing plays and musicals with Arlington Children’s Theatre in her spare time. She lives in Somerville and loves sandwiches.
Dana Berry is the Operations Manager for the New Art Center. Dana is in charge of building maintenance, coordinating birthday party and special event rentals, as well as office management. Making a shift from the media arts (film and television post production) to the visual arts, he is happy to be helping people with artistic, rather than commercial, creative aspirations. Dana grew up in Wellesley and has recently returned to the Boston area from California to “get the band back together!” and to finally watch the Red Sox and Patriots without feeling queasy.
Katie Josephson is the Exhibitions Assistant here at the New Art Center, and is often covered in spackle, paint or some combination thereof. Don't let this fool you however. She graduated this spring from Williams College with a degree in Art History and Art Studio. She likes to read, bake delicious confections, and go sailing on bright, warm days. In her more focused moments she has worked at various art institutions, including the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, the Williams College Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts/Boston, and the Weir Artists' Colony. Even more descriptive: she avers that chartreuse is the new green.
