Our facility was originally built
for the Universalist Church in 1873. Since then, it has been used by the Newtonville
Women's Club and as the student life center for Newton Junior College. In
1977, it became the New Art Center's home. We have maintained the original
stained glass windows and grand spaces for dance and exhibitions. We have also added
studios for visual arts, ceramics, photography, and children. This year the Center
began an architectural study evaluating options for growth and expansion as we look
forward to meeting the challenges of the 21st century with exceptional programs,
improved facilities and financial stability. |
