After studying Fine Arts and Art History in Strasbourg, France, I discovered my love for glass. I moved to Boston in 1995 and worked for eight years in a prominent stained glass studio. With 25 years of experience in working in the medium, I draw from three different techniques for architectural glass commission work: kiln-forming, fusing, and stained glass. I create functional fused glass objects with intricate colored inlays which are exhibited at juried craft shows: Craft Boston and Paradise City. In 2015 I received the Award of Distinction in Glass at the Craft Boston Holiday show. My objects can be viewed and purchased at the Boston gallery of the Society of Arts & Crafts and at the deCordova Museum. Since 2004 I have been sharing my passion for glass while teaching stained glass, fusing, mosaic and jewelry-mosaic in studios and schools in the metro Boston area. For the fall 2017 and winter 2018 television season of the PBS series “This
Old House” I am featured in two segments of the Newton project with one of my stained glass students. (season 37, episode11): http://www.pbs.org/video/newton-gennexthomeowners-pitch-in-1kn1mq. The second segment (season37, episode 14) aired on February 8th on PBS.

REGISTRATION POLICIES

Insufficient Enrollment: The New Art Center will make a full refund for any class cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

Withdrawal: Up to 7 days before the first class, you may withdraw for a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per class. For any tuition payments paid by credit card your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund. Withdrawals from classes, workshops, and events under $40 are eligible for course credit only, less a $10 fee or the full tuition amount can be donated to the New Art Center. Donors will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes. Course credits are good for 1 year from the date of issue, after which time you will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.

Summer Camp Withdrawal: All withdrawals for our Summer Camp must be made by June 9 to receive a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per week. For any tuition payments paid by credit card, your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund.

Student Absences: No refunds will be made for student absences including absences due to COVID or other sickness. We understand that students may have to miss class for a variety of reasons, but New Art decides whether or not to run a class before the term starts based on enrollment and sufficient tuition to cover our costs. Refunding students for individual absences makes it difficult to calculate a breakeven point for each class.

Faculty Absences: All efforts will be made to find a substitute for faculty absences. In the event that a class must be cancelled, students will be notified by email, which will be sent to the address provided during registration. One makeup class will be scheduled each term for a single absence by a faculty member. For multiple absences, a substitute faculty member will be assigned. There will be no refunds for faculty absences.

Scholarships: Limited scholarships are available according to need. Please apply here.
