The New Art Center presents the long awaited Creative Process The Andrew & Jean Dibner Annual Student and Faculty Show 2020. Explorations of paint, pastels, ceramics, and more represent one year of creation through a colorful lens in Creative Process. This exhibition is a chance for the New Art Center’s diverse community of artists to come together and connect through their art. The 2019-20 exhibition has created a dynamic range of mediums and themes expressed by our students and faculty across all ages. In this artwork, you will see the artists’ joy and dedication to art-making through times of great adjustment. Explore and contemplate the hanging art at The New Art Corridor (245 Walnut Street in Newton) and take a tour in our virtual gallery!

A selection of this exhibition will be on view in-person with the majority displayed virtually through a platform called ArtSteps. Admission and online viewing is free and open to the public. Artwork is available for purchase. High resolution images available upon request. For more information, please contact [email protected].

The New Art Corridor is sponsored by Cambridge Savings Bank, The Village Bank, Mark Development, the Newton Cultural Council, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

REGISTRATION POLICIES

Insufficient Enrollment: The New Art Center will make a full refund for any class cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

Withdrawal: Up to 7 days before the first class, you may withdraw for a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per class. For any tuition payments paid by credit card your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund. Withdrawals from classes, workshops, and events under $40 are eligible for course credit only, less a $10 fee or the full tuition amount can be donated to the New Art Center. Donors will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes. Course credits are good for 1 year from the date of issue, after which time you will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.

Summer Camp Withdrawal: All withdrawals for our Summer Camp must be made by June 9 to receive a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per week. For any tuition payments paid by credit card, your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund.

Student Absences: No refunds will be made for student absences including absences due to COVID or other sickness. We understand that students may have to miss class for a variety of reasons, but New Art decides whether or not to run a class before the term starts based on enrollment and sufficient tuition to cover our costs. Refunding students for individual absences makes it difficult to calculate a breakeven point for each class.

Faculty Absences: All efforts will be made to find a substitute for faculty absences. In the event that a class must be cancelled, students will be notified by email, which will be sent to the address provided during registration. One makeup class will be scheduled each term for a single absence by a faculty member. For multiple absences, a substitute faculty member will be assigned. There will be no refunds for faculty absences.

Scholarships: Limited scholarships are available according to need. Please apply here.
