Deepen your understanding of the fundamentals of drawing and acrylic painting in this energetic studio class. Look at contemporary practices of drawing and painting for inspiration and new ways of working. Explore composition, style, mark making, light and shading, and other fundamental techniques. Excellent for all levels of experience, and for those building their portfolios.

In the event of a COVID-related building closure, in-person classes will continue with live online learning (Zoom). In the case of equipment-intensive courses, the curriculum may be adjusted slightly. For example, all ceramics classes will continue with a handbuilding focus.

Please Note: Online registration for classes that begin on Monday or Saturday close the Friday before at 12PM. Online registration for classes that begin on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday close on the day before at 12PM. If class registration has closed online and you are interested in registering, please email Marte at marte@newartcenter.org.

Adult Live Online Learning (Zoom) Classes: The “Student’s Email” you provide during registration will be emailed the Zoom link and login information one hour before the class begins.
