Loading Classes

Dates: 1/10
Details: Monday, 1 Session
Times: 9:15 AM – 11:45 AM

Adding acrylic ink to your watercolor wash will bring your textural effects to a new level. This online workshop for intermediate/advanced watercolorists will demonstrate techniques for creating subtle and dramatic effects in any style of painting. Students will receive a link to a recorded demo and have the opportunity to review it before, during and after class. Guidance and feedback will be provided directly through Zoom and/or by texting images of works to the instructor. Due to supply chain issues, a kit that includes Daler-Rowney acrylic ink (sepia and burnt umber, 1 oz bottle) and Winsor and Newton granulation medium (2.5 oz) will be provided for students to pick up at the New Art Center. Students will use their own watercolor paper, paints and brushes. A complete list of other necessary supplies will be provided.

*Family level members, remember that in order to get the full 10% discount on 4 weeks of summer art camp or more, you must call the front office at 617-964-3424.*

REGISTRATION POLICIES

Insufficient Enrollment: The New Art Center will make a full refund for any class cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

Withdrawal: Up to 7 days before the first class, you may withdraw for a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per class. For any tuition payments paid by credit card your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund. Withdrawals from classes, workshops, and events under $40 are eligible for course credit only, less a $10 fee or the full tuition amount can be donated to the New Art Center. Donors will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes. Course credits are good for 1 year from the date of issue, after which time you will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.

Summer Camp Withdrawal: All withdrawals for our Summer Camp must be made by June 9 to receive a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per week. For any tuition payments paid by credit card, your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund.

Student Absences: No refunds will be made for student absences including absences due to COVID or other sickness. We understand that students may have to miss class for a variety of reasons, but New Art decides whether or not to run a class before the term starts based on enrollment and sufficient tuition to cover our costs. Refunding students for individual absences makes it difficult to calculate a breakeven point for each class.

Faculty Absences: All efforts will be made to find a substitute for faculty absences. In the event that a class must be cancelled, students will be notified by email, which will be sent to the address provided during registration. One makeup class will be scheduled each term for a single absence by a faculty member. For multiple absences, a substitute faculty member will be assigned. There will be no refunds for faculty absences.

Scholarships: Limited scholarships are available according to need. Please apply here.
