This class will lay a solid foundation for drawing a human figure by introducing students to the basic human anatomy, proportions, shape, and movement of the major body masses, as well as providing traditional techniques to improve observation skills. Students will draw from the paintings and drawings of the masters (mainly comprised of undressed figures) as well as from the photographs of dancers. Drawing time will vary from 10-second gestures to longer and more independent 20-45 min drawings.Materials needed: soft vine charcoal, 2B pencil, white or pink eraser, chamois cloth, 18″x24″ or 14″x20″ drawing paper pad
