MCC Artist Fellowships provide direct assistance to Massachusetts artists working across a range of disciplines, to recognize exceptional work and to support the further development of their talents. Artist Fellowships give individuals the financial ability to hone and deepen their craft.
“The artists showcased at our 2017 Fellows Invitational represent a variety of media and traditions, but they share a commitment to excellence in their work,” says Anita Walker, MCC’s Executive Director. “We’re delighted to partner with the New Art Center to share this exceptional exhibition of contemporary visual art with the public.”
“The Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Artist Fellowship is Massachusetts’ highest award in the arts. Each year this program recognizes and supports a talented and select group of artistic innovators and creative thinkers. The New Art Center is honored to partner with the Council to present these extraordinary expressions of our time and place,” says Daniel Elias, NAC’s Executive Director.
Samples of the artists’ work can be found on Gallery@MCC, the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s online showcase of Artist Fellowship awardees and finalists.
