Deputy Director of Programs
Pat Walker studied studio art at Queens College in NY and received an M.F.A. in Painting from Boston University, where she studied with Philip Guston and James Weeks. She is committed to art making, and making art accessible to the community. For over 20 years, she worked as an artist and taught drawing, painting, watercolor and mixed media at a variety of institutions in the Boston area including the Museum of Fine Arts, Danforth Museum of Art, Regis College and Pine Manor College. Prior to joining NAC, she was Director of Education at Danforth Art, where she managed a large community art school for 10 years. She continues to create, and is currently working in clay.
What brought you to NAC?
“Making art involves a way of seeing and thinking that we do not practice enough in our lives – a way of exploring, reacting, and finding possibilities and new solutions. It’s wonderful to work in a creative community where this happens all the time, with artists of all ages.”
