In this 4-week intensive, study how to dovetail the many special, entertaining techniques of watercolor into your summer paintings. Create complex forest scenes with your own group of cut cardboard stamps, and use natural sponges for texturing tidepool rocks. Test many kinds of friskets and resists. Conquer salt effects once and for all. Learn scraping for beach grass and alcohol effects for dandelions. Explore gouache wash-off techniques to portray fog at dawn on the lake. Well use simple exercises portraying beach scenes, New England woods, and backyard gardens so that you are ready for exciting results when you journal, paint en plein air, or relax in the backyard.
