Adria Arch

Adria Arch creates “hybrid paintings” on lightweight plastic comprised of cut out abstract elements inhabiting space. With her art, she seeks to physically engage and suggest new ways of seeing. Suspended from the ceiling and walls, her work combines the formal concerns of painting while extending into space like sculpture, thus their hybrid nature. Her installations question what makes a painting and how the viewer interacts with it.

She holds a MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art, a MA from the University of Arizona, and a BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University and has taught at the New Art Center since 2011.
