Avery Kallas

Avery Kallas is an artist, art educator, and arts consultant. She has worked with a range of Boston artists helping them build sculptures and install art shows, as well mange websites and design advertisements. She has also taught at a variety of public and private schools with all ages of students since 2005. She loves to teach students the joy of art making from creating textures with pencil, to sculpting busts with clay, and even teaching how art makes the brain happy and calm. In her free time, Avery enjoys watercoloring, encaustic painting, and making complex origami. She is also a very experienced baker.

 

She holds a BFA in Arts Education from Tufts University and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She has taught at the New Art Center since 2019.

Today

In the event of a COVID-related building closure, in-person classes will continue with live online learning (Zoom). In the case of equipment-intensive courses, the curriculum may be adjusted slightly. For example, all ceramics classes will continue with a handbuilding focus.

Please Note: Online registration for classes that begin on Monday or Saturday close the Friday before at 12PM. Online registration for classes that begin on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday close on the day before at 12PM. Adult Live Online Learning (Zoom) Classes: The “Student’s Email” you provide during registration will be emailed the Zoom link and login information one hour before the class begins.

Children/TeenĀ Live Online Learning (Zoom) Classes: The email you provide at checkout will be emailed the Zoom link and login information one hour before the class begins.
