Running from September 18, 2015 to October 17, 2015 in the Main Gallery

The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and the New Art Center in Newton (NAC) join together to present the MCC Artist Fellows and Finalists in Crafts, Sculpture, Installation & New Genres, from September 18 through October 17, 2015 at NAC, 61 Washington Park, Newton. The exhibition will showcase the MCC’s 2015 awardees – a selection of the Commonwealth’s most talented artists. This show brings artists from the crafts category together with those in the sculpture, installation and new genres category to blur the lines separating them and to explore the relations between them.

Opening Reception: Friday, September 18, 7-9PM

MCC Support for Individual Artists: A Presentation with Kelly Bennett & Dan Blask: Wednesday, September 30, 7-8:30PM

“It is an honor, once again, to partner with the Massachusetts Cultural Council to present this year’s awardees in Crafts, Sculpture, Installation and New Genres. MCC Artist Fellowships provide direct assistance to Massachusetts artists working across a range of disciplines, to recognize exceptional work and to support the further development of their talents. Artist Fellowships give individuals the financial ability to hone and deepen their craft.

“MCC is excited to once again partner with the New Art Center to showcase its recent fellows and finalists,” said MCC Executive Director Anita Walker. “This year marks the 40th anniversary of MCC’s Artist Fellowship Program, and what better way to celebrate that milestone than to present work from some of our state’s finest visual artists.”
