Shibori is a group of traditionally Japanese techniques used to create pattern on cloth. In this workshop students will stitch, bind, clamp, and pole wrap cotton and silk scarves to be dyed. Each student will make 4-5 scarves. Once the scarves are dyed and resists are removed, beautiful patterns emerge. Much like tie-dye, there is an element of surprise once you dye your scarves and see what patterns appear. This class will use reactive dyes in a variety of colors. No experience necessary. Bring a lunch. Most supplies included; see website for materials list.
