Join New Art Center and our Guest Artist Jane Kim-Testa for a celebration of the Lunar New Year!

This year is the year of the Blue Snake in the Korean calendar, or Wood Snake in the Chinese calendar.
The Year of the Wood Snake is meant to bring growth, resilience, harmony, wisdom, intuition, and creativity, making it a year well-suited for personal and professional development.
Art educators will lead participants through different make-and-take activities: origami snake, Korean kite coloring, lucky pouches, and Chinese calligraphy (featuring a demonstration by Ren Li Song).
Performances include:
Music by the Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association’s (GBCCA) music ensemble, at 1:30pm.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE
- 11:45 am Doors Open to Public
- 1:30 pm: Performance by GBCCA Chinese Music Ensemble (Main Gallery)
- 2:00 pm: Demonstration by calligrapher Ren Li Song (ELVAS classroom)
- 12:00 – 4:00 pm: Art-making in ELVAS classroom

ATTENDANCE
The event is free and open to the public. The event is from 12 to 4 PM. Doors open 15 minutes beforehand.
We will be photographing this event and by registering, you agree that there is a possibility you may be photographed and the resulting images used for marketing purposes (in email, social media, print, and on our website).
ACCESSIBILITY
The Main Gallery can be accessed via a ramp that connects to the sidewalk on Washington Park. There is an accessible bathroom in the Main Gallery. The Main Gallery connects to other parts of the New Art Center via stairs. We will be broadcasting performances held in the Main Gallery to our other large room, where additional programming will be happening. Any questions about accessibility, please call 617-964-3424.
