Don’t Close Your Eyes: Ukrainian Artists Respond to the War

Loading Classes

Jointly curated by Halyna Andrusenko, an artist from Kyiv, and Hanna Melnyczuk, a Ukrainian-American artist, the current exhibits include over 150 works on paper by 26 artists from various regions of Ukraine. All the work was created in response to the war that began February 24th. We plan to show this and additional work in 2023 and beyond in New York, Chicago, and additional venues still being organized.

Works will be on sale, with 50% of the proceeds going to the artist and the other 50% to a humanitarian organization.

The opening reception will take place November 5, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. The New Art Corridor Gallery is open 24 hours a day.

The exhibit continues at the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Gallery at Bristol Community College, Fall River MA.  Opening reception is on November 10, from 6-8.

The New Art Corridor is sponsored by The Village Bank, Mark Development, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

REGISTRATION POLICIES

Insufficient Enrollment: The New Art Center will make a full refund for any class cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

Withdrawal: Up to 7 days before the first class, you may withdraw for a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per class. For any tuition payments paid by credit card your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund. Withdrawals from classes, workshops, and events under $40 are eligible for course credit only, less a $10 fee or the full tuition amount can be donated to the New Art Center. Donors will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes. Course credits are good for 1 year from the date of issue, after which time you will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.

Summer Camp Withdrawal: All withdrawals for our Summer Camp must be made by June 9 to receive a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per week. For any tuition payments paid by credit card, your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund.

Student Absences: No refunds will be made for student absences including absences due to COVID or other sickness. We understand that students may have to miss class for a variety of reasons, but New Art decides whether or not to run a class before the term starts based on enrollment and sufficient tuition to cover our costs. Refunding students for individual absences makes it difficult to calculate a breakeven point for each class.

Faculty Absences: All efforts will be made to find a substitute for faculty absences. In the event that a class must be cancelled, students will be notified by email, which will be sent to the address provided during registration. One makeup class will be scheduled each term for a single absence by a faculty member. For multiple absences, a substitute faculty member will be assigned. There will be no refunds for faculty absences.

Scholarships: Limited scholarships are available according to need. Please apply here.
