Community Cultural Days
The New Art Center will host a total of five Community Cultural Days in 2023. These events celebrate the holidays and traditions of the many diverse cultures represented in the local community. Events include art making activities connected to the designated culture, as well as musical and dance performances. New Art Center partners directly with community members and organizations to accurately portray and appropriately celebrate different cultures. Previous celebrations included: Dia de los Muertos, the Festivals of Light (Diwali, Hanukkah, Las Posadas, and Kwanza), Lunar New Year, the Hindu festival of colors Holi, and Juneteenth. This year will also include celebrations for Black History Month and LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
