It’s Creative Arts Therapies Week #catsweek2025

During Creative Arts Therapies Week, the third week of March, we raise awareness about art therapy and other life-enhancing mental health professions.

Creative Arts Therapists are mental health professionals who use arts-based interventions and creative processes to optimize mental health and wellness. They are trained and credentialed according to their distinct profession and each Creative Arts Therapy field is governed by a separate professional association with a unique scope of practice. You can read about it more here:https://arttherapy.org/catsweek/

At the New Art Center We offer different Art Therapy Programs:

and also Creative Connections for grades 4-5: https://canvas.newartcenter.org/classes/2769

We believe that visual arts are an important tool for self-expression, emotional regulation, and well-being.

Our Arts as Therapy Groups Provide a safe and responsive space for tweens and teens to create, connect, and share in a variety of art modalities in a confidential and supportive community environment.

Mindful and ego-building weekly art exercises allow teens to access, express, and transform feelings and struggles into meaningful art forms.

Our Weekly sessions are led by a registered art therapist Erin Loparo (MS-ATR) and a visual artist (BFA) Dina Kats.
