Running from March 4, 2016 to April 10, 2016 in the Holzwasser Gallery

This exhibition investigates contemporary painting today through new mid- to large-scale paintings by Liz Gargas and Brent Ridge. Gargas, a New Art Center student and self-proclaimed folk artist, creates narrative environments composed of deeply personal monuments and icons. Ridge, an NAC faculty member, operates in a land of abstraction rooted in appropriation, landscape, and post-industrial aesthetics. Together, their varied processes explore the relationship between collecting and story-telling, serial development and personal growth.
