The Annual New Art Center Student, Faculty, and Staff Exhibition, Creative Process 2025 CALL FOR ART NOW OPEN!

Submission Deadline: 11:59 pm, June 12th, 2025.

New Art encourages all students, faculty, staff, and members to apply!

All students (adults, teens, and children) and faculty who have taken classes from September 2023 to May 2025 are eligible to submit images of work made in a New Art Center class for the exhibition. Open to all new art community artists and artwork of any media. Faculty and Staff may submit any of their work.

Each applicant may submit a total of 3 pieces, 1 Large and 2 Small.

Large work: For 2D up to 36″x36″
For 3D up to 11″W x 23″x 11″D.

Small works: For 2D up to 12″x12″(Framed)
For 3D up to 6″W x 11″ H x 6″D.

      Acceptance Notification:

         End of Day, Friday, June 13th, 2025

Artwork Requirements

  • Work created in the last two years.
  • Work not shown in previous Creative Process Exhibitions
  • Open to all artists and artwork of any media created in a New Art Class.
  • Faculty may submit any of their work.
  •  LastName_FirstName_Title.jpeg, and the dimensions of the piece.
  • Photos smallest side should be at least 600px.
  • Photos should be clear, well lit, not blurry, and no glares from lighting.

2D Work

  • All work selected for in-person display must be gallery-ready with hanging hardware.
  • 1 Large work (up to 36″x36″)framed,  and 2 Small works (up to 12″x12″) framed,may be submitted.
  • 2D works – Photo should be cropped to artwork’s edges so only artwork is visible.

3D Work

  • Large work: Up to 11″W x 23″H x 11″D.
  • Small work: Up to 6″W x 11″ H x 6″D.
  • 3D works – Artwork should be photographed against a clean, white or black background so only artwork is visible.

Application Materials

  • Up to three pieces, with high resolution documentation files (300 dpi, JPEG, CMYK, minimum of 1024 pixels wide).
  • Captions for the files, including Title, Medium, Dimensions (in inches) and Retail Price, if for sale of NFS notation.

Timeline

  • Call for art: The call is open through Thursday, June 12th at 11:59pm.
  • Notification: Artists will be notified of their acceptance by Friday, June 13th , 2025.
  • Drop off dates: June 17-19th, 2025.
  • Exhibition Opens: Thursday, June 26th, 2025
  • Opening Reception:  Thursday, June 26th, 2025
  • Exhibition Closes: Friday, August 8th, 2025.
  • Pick Up Date: August 14-15th, 2025.

Accepted Works

Artists will be notified per email, of their acceptance by end of day, Monday, June 13th, 2025.  For submission questions, please contact Seline Smith, at [email protected] or Sam Belisle at [email protected]

Works selected for the exhibition must be dry, clean, finished, and ready to hang.  All work selected for in-person display must be gallery-ready with hanging hardware such as D-rings as well as stretched or framed if 2D.

If selected for the exhibition, artists will be responsible for transporting work to New Art Corridor, located at 245 Walnut St, Newton, MA 02460.

Pick up of selected work

In the event the work(s) does/do not sell, Lender will be responsible for picking up unsold work from the New Art Center no later than August 15th, 2024, unless other arrangements are made.
