How to Register for Our Programs

  • All registrations are taken on a first come first serve basis. Full payment is due upon registration. If you would like to set up a payment plan, please call the office and talk to Marte, 617-964-3424. 

When Online Registration Closes

Online registration for classes that begin on Monday or Saturday close the Friday before at 12PM. Online registration for classes that begin on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday close on the day before at 12PM. If class registration has closed online and you are interested in registering, please email Marte at [email protected].

Online Registration Transaction Receipt

When registering online, you will receive a credit card transaction receipt for your purchase confirming your payment. Registrations are accepted in the order received. A course confirmation will be sent by email approximately one week before the class begins. If there are conflicts, our registrar will contact you directly. If the class is oversubscribed, or under enrolled, you will receive a full refund.

Course Confirmation

  • Register early so that your class will run! Courses will be confirmed approximately a week before class begins, if there are enough students to run the class.
  • When registering online, you will receive a transaction receipt.

General Registration Policies

  • Insufficient Enrollment: The New Art Center will make a full refund for any class canceled due to insufficient enrollment.
  • Withdrawal: Up to 7 days before the first class, you may withdraw for a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per class. For any tuition payments paid by credit card your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund. Withdrawals from classes, workshops, and events under $40 are eligible for course credit only, less a $10 fee or the full tuition amount can be donated to the New Art Center. Donors will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes. Course credits are good for 1 year from the date of issue, after which time you will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.
  • Summer Camp Withdrawal: All withdrawals for our Summer Camp must be made by Friday, June 7 to receive a refund, less a $25 administrative fee per week. For any tuition payments paid by credit card, your full convenience fees will be deducted from your refund.
  • Student Absences: No refunds or credits will be made for student absences including absences due to COVID or other sickness.
  • Faculty Absences: All efforts will be made to find a substitute for faculty absences. In the event that a class must be canceled, students will be notified by email, which will be sent to the address provided during registration. One makeup class will be scheduled each term for a single absence by a faculty member. For multiple absences, a substitute faculty member will be assigned. There will be no refunds for faculty absences.
  • Scholarships: Limited scholarships are available according to need. Please apply here.
  • Tuition Cost Increases: At the New Art Center, we strongly believe financial circumstances should never prevent a student or artist from creating their art, and we work to keep our pricing transparent while paying our faculty and staff competitive wages. As labor and material costs increase, New Art may raise prices from time to time. If these increases pose a limiting factor for you, please consider our Tuition Assistance program. New Art offers need-based partial and full tuition assistance to children, teens, and adults to attend our programs. Learn more here.
  • Gift Certificates: New Art Center gift certificates are available in any dollar amount for use towards all classes and workshops. 
  • Discounts cannot be combined, nor applied retroactively.
  • Membership Discounts available online through your account or over the phone. Please call the office for more information, for help with your membership account, and to register using discounts.
