We had a fabulous time with all of our young artists during Week 4 of our summer programs!

ART CAMP

This week, we are imagining comics and characters: Superheroes, villains, and even Frank Jr, the axolotl. Campers are transforming their favorite characters into dishes or cups in clay. They are creating their own original comics in 2D. In 3D, campers are creating original characters and building small rooms for them to live out of cardboard and other materials.

In performance, the emphasis is superheroes versus villains in the most unlikely of places. We’re seeing lots of capes and masks. And in movement, we are always ready for action with relay races and balloon tennis.

We’re still enrolling for Weeks 5-11 (with the exception of Week 10, which is sold out!). Space is limited in Weeks 8, 9, and 11, so act fast!

ART STUDIOS

Teens in Week 4 of 2D studio worked on the iPads to create zines! They learned all about Adobe Fesco and experimented with all of the different tools it has. They also enjoyed learning how to make animations on the app.

In Week 4 of ceramics teens began by learning how to throw on the wheel to make small pots and vases. Then they handbuilt creative pots and lids, some of which looked like octopus, pancakes, hearts, bows, and mushrooms! The class finished the week by glazing all of their projects so they are ready to go into the kiln!
