Cultural Programs Workshop 2026 Proposal Form

________________________________________________________________

The New Art Center invites artists and artist-educators to submit proposals for art workshops that celebrate cultural heritage, lived experience, and personal creative practice. Through this initiative, we aim to bring community members together to honor diverse cultural traditions, beliefs, and perspectives while fostering intercultural understanding and connection through the arts.

We are seeking thoughtful, authentic workshop proposals that are meaningfully connected to an instructor’s cultural heritage, identity, or lived experience. Workshops may draw from your area of artistic specialization, personal practice, or teaching experience, and should reflect an approach that is both respectful and rooted in genuine connection.
Submission of this proposal form does not guarantee selection. All proposals will be reviewed by the New Art Center Programs Team, and workshops will be scheduled based on programmatic fit, capacity, and community needs. Applicants are welcome to submit multiple proposals for consideration.
Eligibility: Artists and artist-educators who identify as members of the following communities are encouraged to apply: LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and QTBIPOC.
We are particularly interested in workshops connected to cultural heritages, observances, and celebrations including, but not limited to:
  • Women’s History Month
  • APIDA and AANHPI Heritage Month
  • Pride Month
  • Hispanic Heritage Month
  • Diwali
  • Native American Heritage Month
  • Hanukkah
  • Kwanzaa
Applicants are encouraged to review New Art Center’s mission, values, and guiding principles to ensure alignment.

Please submit your proposal for consideration. If you have questions or need assistance with the application, contact Seline Smith, Senior Programs Manager at seline@newartcenter.org.
Thank you for sharing your creativity and perspective with our community!
