Art Therapy supports mental health! From The American Art Therapy Association  – WHAT IS ART THERAPY?

DID YOU KNOW? The New Art Center provides sliding-scale Art as Therapy groups for grades 4-9 led by a registered art therapist, as well as Expressive Arts for those impacted by domestic violence led by a licensed mental health counselor.

CHECK OUT A NEW ART CENTER TEEN ART AS THERAPY PROCESS!
Our therapeutic goal: Choosing to experiment with a variety of chalk and oil pastels, watercolor, and paint markers, teen participants express their individuality and discharge anxiety to create vivid flower petals and centers. Then, teens combine them into a whole flower – a symbol of “new life” and connectedness (belonging) to the group. Photo credit: Erin Palazzolo Loparo, MS-ATR
