Artists: a direct response to “pop” is your time to play, experiment and have fun, perhaps challenging your traditional boundaries.

Get in the spirit—Submit work that comments on popular culture or work that speaks of your personal style today. Submit traditional photography, assemblages, mixed media, screen-prints, paintings, drawings, and sculptures that evokes our theme. Innovative work will bring excitement to our gala audience.

Eligibility: No New Art affiliation required. Open to all artists and artwork of any media. All works will be co-curated by the Gala Committee and Juniper Rag.

Call Deadline: 11:59pm, Sunday, March 17th, 2024.

Artwork Requirements

  • Up to 5 pieces of art may be submitted. All works will be considered by the curating committee.

  • All 2D work selected for in-person display must be gallery-ready with hanging hardware. Photo documentation should be clear, well lit, not blurry, and no glare from lighting, cropped to artwork’s edges so only artwork is visible.
  • 3D works – Artwork should be photographed against a clean, white or black background so only artwork is visible.
  • If selected for in-person exhibition, artists will be responsible for transporting work to New Art Center or  Garage B (The Speedway) located at 525 Western Ave., Brighton, MA 02135 and picking unsold work up from New Art Center located at 61 Washington Park, Newton MA 02460.

  • Photograph of artist, with a minimum resolution of 600px.
  • Up to five pieces, with high resolution documentation files (300 dpi, JPEG, CMYK, minimum of 1024 pixels wide).
  • Captions for the files, including Title, Medium, Dimensions (in inches) and Retail Price.
