INTERCESSION

“..to act or interpose on behalf of someone in difficulty or trouble, as by pleading or petition: to intercede; to attempt to reconcile differences between; mediate.”

This exhibition features African American photographers who employ light to bridge, call attention, and to disrupt. The works actively engage new ways of seeing, believing and moving in the world.

Eligibility: Must self-identify as an African American, live in the greater Boston area, and the artwork medium must be photography.

  • Must self-identify as an African American artist
  • Live in the greater Boston area
  • Artwork medium must be photography

Requirements

  • Submit up to five photographs
  • Created in the last five years
  • All work selected for in-person display must be gallery-ready (framed or stretched canvas) equipped with d-rings for hanging
  • If selected for in-person exhibition, artists will be responsible for transporting work to and from the satellite gallery
  • Digital selections will require high quality photos in .jpeg format, named LastName_FirstName_Title.jpeg, and the dimensions of the piece
