The New Art Center is pleased to be a part of the Juneteenth event on June 19, 2025, hosted by Families Organizing for Racial Justice (FORJ) and the Newton Coalition of Black Residents at Hyde Community Center.

On Friday, June 13, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, teens will have the opportunity to work with a local Zahirah Nur Truth to conceptualize, design, and execute the beginnings of a collaborative art project that integrates the historical context of Juneteenth as well as the modern-day iterations of the holiday. This workshop will provide a space for teens to learn, create, and connect with each other while producing a work of art that will be displayed at the FORJ Juneteenth celebration event on June 19, 2025.
